Fuel cell vehicles, much discussed at present, eventually will be put into commercial production. This is still quite a few years away, but whenever these cars are launched, they will have benefited from the results of lightweightening research.
  
This is to say, results from the Next Generation Vehicle Project are platform neutral. Lightweight stainless steel materials are extremely important for any future car production.
