Today, approximately half a billion vehicles traffic the roads of the world. By the year 2020, this number will have doubled. Simple mathematics indicate that for the world to be able to host one billion vehicles, these will need to have at least 50% less impact on environment. This would then result in a status quo situation. The vision, though, should be of a different nature. The vision should be for cars and other vehicles to have less and less impact on environment, even though the actual number increases.
