The American physician Amory B Lovins receives the annual Volvo award for environmental research into the energy field.
Lovins´work includes presenting an ultra-light car, called the Hypercar. He has been pursuing research for 40 years, and is co-founder of Rocky Mountain Institute. A central part of Lovins´ work has been devoted methods for reducing emissions. The prize sum of ca. $210,000 is to be collected by the awardee himself in Gothenburg later this year.
